Struck by the Royal Mint between 1893 and 1901 the Queen Victoria Old head sovereign features an older crowned and veiled bust portrait of the Queen facing left with legend around. This portrait is also referred to as the ‘old head’ or ‘vailed head’. The reverse depicts St George slaying the dragon with date in exergue.
