Bernhard Forgery B244 Kenneth Oswald Peppiatt White Fifty Pounds Banknote In Near Extremely Fine Condition.

This Bernard forgery is 1935 London 15th April Issue, with Prefix / Serial Number 53 over N 45823.

This note has been folded, there are a few pin holes on this note, there is also a small part of the note missing from the right hand side.

The B244 Peppiatt banknote is a World War II Bernard forgery. This large white note features a seated Britannia at the top left on the obverse. The reverse is blank.

The White banknotes forged during World War II under Operation Bernhard were high-quality forgeries. These notes were produced by Nazi Germany at Sachsenhausen concentration camp. The aim of these forgeries were to destabilizing the British economy by flooding it with counterfeit currency. While the forgeries were detailed, there were subtle differences compared to the genuine notes that could be identified upon closer inspection.
