The Gold Double Sovereign Coin was struck in 22 carat and weighs approx. 15.97 grams. The equivalent 0.47 ounces of fine Gold.
These two coins come in the original green box. The booklet and individually numbered certificates are also included with this set as issued by the Royal Mint.
Both coins have been photographed inside the capsule. Both coins appear to have been lightly handled and have signs of toning.
The coins were issued to commemorate 200th anniversary of the birth of Isambard K. Brunel.
One coin features the portrait of Brunel with bridge and wheel on the reverse. The other features Paddington Station structural supports representing the engineering achievements of Isambard Kingdom Brunel.
Proof coins are hand-finished to create a flawless effect, and are often struck multiple times with specially prepared dies to achieve a mirrored finish and clarity of detail.
