Each coin in this 2002 Gold Proof Three Coin Set feature the fourth crowned portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II facing right, wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, with legend around completing the design. The reverse of this unique coin features a shield of royal arms inside an open laurel wreath, with a crown above the shield, with the date at the bottom. The design was created by heraldic artist Timothy Noad to celebrate the Queen’s Golden Jubilee.
Proof coins are hand-finished to create a flawless effect, and are often struck multiple times with specially prepared dies to achieve a mirrored finish and clarity of detail.
