This 2001Â five pounds, five sovereigns or quintuple sovereign is a coin struck in 22 carat gold by the Royal Mint. The Obverse features the forth crowned portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II facing right. The queen is wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland tiara, with legend around. The Reverse depicts St. George slaying the dragon right, with the date and designer’s initials in exergue.
The coin has the ‘U’ privy mark to the left of the date to indicate it is the brilliant uncirculated issue.
