The 1951 George VI Proof Scottish Shilling coin was struck by the Royal Mint in the United Kingdom during the George VI era (1936-1952). This proof coin is struck in higher quality than the circulated coin. Both an English and Scottish shilling were issued in 1951. The reverse of the Scottish shilling features a crowned Scottish lion. A bare head of King George VI appears on the Obverse.
