The 1951 George VI Proof Florin coin was struck by the Royal Mint in the United Kingdom during the George VI era (1936-1952). This proof coin is struck in higher quality than the circulated coin. The obverse features the uncrowned portrait of King George VI facing left with legend around. The reverse depicts a crowned Tudor rose, this is divided by the royal cypher below a thistle and shamrock. The legend is above with denomination and date below.
This 1951 proof coin had a limited mintage of only 20,000.
