1935 King George V Specimen Silver Proof Crown Coin In Near Mint Condition.

This is a high grade coin with sharp details. There is a nice dark toning on both sides of this coin. There are light surface marks on both sides.

This is NOT the raised edge proof issue.

The coin comes in a plastic coin envelope.

The 1935 Crown was struck in 0.500 silver and was issued to commemorate the silver Jubilee of King George V by the Royal Mint. The Obverse features the uncrowned portrait of King George V facing left, with legend around. The Reverse features an Art Deco rendering of St. George slaying the dragon, with the denomination and date above. This coin was also affectionately know as the ‘rocking horse’ crown.

Proof Coins are hand-finished to create a flawless effect, and are often struck multiple times with specially prepared dies to achieve a mirrored finish and clarity of detail.
