The 1912 Austrian gold 10 Corona coin is a bullion coin that was re-struck much later than 1912.
The coin features a bare headed aged portrait of Emperor Franz Joseph I and a signature below the bust. The reverse shows a double-headed imperial eagle, the heraldic bird of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. The eagle holds a sword and scepter in its right talon, and a cross-bearing orb in its left. The Hapsburg emperors chose the double-headed eagle because they believed it could look both east and west at the same time, towards both sides of their empire. The coins value and date are in both roman characters above and in numbers below.
