1910 King Edward VII Silver Maundy Fourpence Coin In Extremely Fine Condition.

This is a nice example with good detail and a darker toning on the reverse. There are light surface marks on the obverse of this coin.

This coin comes in a plastic coin envelope.

The 1910 maundy fourpence is a coin struck in 0.925 silver by the Royal Mint. The Obverse features the uncrowned portrait of king Edward VII facing right, with legend around.  The Reverse of this coin depicts a crowned denomination dividing date within an oak wreath.

Maundy money is struck in denominations of one penny, twopence, threepence, and fourpence. Until the 18th century the coins were given from the circulating coinage, and it was not until the latter half of the century that the four Maundy coins developed as distinct, noncirculating pieces. In most years there are fewer than 2,000 complete sets of Maundy money issued.
