1893 Victoria Old Head Silver Halfcrown Coin In Extremely Fine Condition.
There are surface marks on both sides of this silver coin, the coin also has toning and discoloration.
The 1893 Old head also know as the veiled head Halfrown is a coin struck in 0.925 silver by the Royal Mint. This was the first of the old head dates struck. This old head design was used between 1893 and 1901. The obverse features a crowned, veiled, and draped bust of Queen Victoria facing right. The engraver’s initials, “T.B.”, are under the bust, which stands for Sir Thomas Brock. With the legend around. The Reverse features a crowned, spade-shaped shield of royal arms within a ring. The date is below the shield and is divided by a small image of St George & the dragon. The legend reads “FID · DEF · IND · IMP” with “HALF CROWN” divided by the date.
