The 1887 silver dollar coin was minted in Philadelphia and is also known as the Morgan Dollar. Both the Obverse and Reverse were designed by George Thomas Morgan. The Obverse features the bust of lady liberty facing left, wearing a cap and crown, with flowers in her hair and stars around the border. The text on the obverse reads “Liberty; E Pluribus Unum” with the date below. The reverse features an eagle holding arrows and an olive branch, within wreath.
