The Young head Shilling is a coin struck in 0.925 silver by the Royal Mint.  This third type of the Young head design of Queen Victoria was used on the Obverse of the Shilling between 1867 and 1879.  The Reverse of this coin depicts a crown, laurel and oak leaves within an open wreath, and the words “ONE / SHILLING” and “1877” with die number 28 above the date.
