This is a nice example with good detail. There is patchy bronze toning on both sides of this coin. There is a tiny edge nick on the obverse.

The H mint mark appears under the date, indicating this coin was struck at Heaton And Son in Birmingham

The 1874 H penny was struck in bronze. The obverse side of the coin depicts the young bust of Queen Victoria wearing a bodice, mantle, and circular brooch, with her hair in a bun and decorated with a wreath of leaves and berries.  The reverse side of the coin depicts Britannia seated to the right, and the date is inscribed in the exergue.
