The Young head Shilling is a coin struck in 0.925 silver by the Royal Mint. This second type of the Young head design of Queen Victoria was used on the Obverse of the Shilling between 1839 and 1867. The Reverse of this coin depicts a crown, laurel and oak leaves within an open wreath, and the words “ONE / SHILLING” and “1849”.
