1847 Victoria Copper Penny Coin In Extremely Fine Or Better Condition.

This is a high grade example with sharp detail. There are extremely light surface marks on both sides of this large copper coin.

The date on this coin appears to have been double-struck.

This coin comes in a plastic coin envelope.

The 1847 penny was struck in copper by the Royal Mint.  The obverse side of the coin Features a young head of Queen Victoria facing left with a ribbon in her hair, the artist’s initials W.W. incuse on the neck truncation, with the date 1847 below.  The reverse side of the coin depicts Britannia seated facing right holding a trident and resting her right hand on a shield.  A rose, thistle, and shamrock are united in the exergue.
