The 1845 Young head Crown is a coin struck in 0.925 silver by the Royal Mint. This Victorian coin features a young portrait with her hair in a loose bun or ponytail on the Obverse, this younger Victorian effigy only appeared on four different crown coins during her reign. The reverse design is a crowned quartered shield in a laurel wreath. The quarters contain the arms of England, Scotland and Ireland. Two different edge types were made in this year, this coin has the Cinquefoil edge stops.
