1844 Star Victoria Young Head Silver Crown Coin In Fair To Fine Condition.

This coin has been used and has harsh surface marks and edge marks on the Obverse.

The 1844 Star Young head Crown is a coin struck in 0.925 silver by the Royal Mint. This Victorian coin features a young portrait with her hair in a loose bun or ponytail on the Obverse, this younger Victorian effigy only appeared on four different crown coins during her reign. The reverse design is a crowned quartered shield in a laurel wreath. The quarters contain the arms of England, Scotland and Ireland. Two different edge types were made in this year, this coin has the Star edge stops.
