The 1842 Young head Halfrown is a coin struck in 0.925 silver by the Royal Mint. This Young head design of Queen Victoria was used on the Obverse of the halfcrown between 1839 and 1887. The Reverse of this coin depicts a crowned square shield with laurel branches, a thistle, rose, and shamrock spray below.
