The 1841 halfpenny was struck in copper by the Royal Mint.  The obverse side of the coin features a young Queen Victoria with her head facing left, hair in a double fillet, and a loose curl. The truncation on the neck has the engraver’s initials, W.W. for William Wyon, and the date below.  The reverse side of the coin depicts Britannia seated facing right holding a trident and resting her right hand on a shield.  A rose, thistle, and shamrock are united in the exergue.
