The 1827 Third Farthing is a coin struck in copper by the Royal Mint for use in Malta. The obverse features the laureate portrait of George IV facing left, with legend around and date below. The reverse features a seated figure of Britannia facing right, holding trident in left hand and shield bearing the Union flag in left, with legend around and national flower emblems in exergue.
This coin was struck for use in Malta and was never legal tender in the UK.
