This coin has the Roman I in the date. The date and legend are readable. There is edge damage on both sides and scratching on the obverse of this used coin.

The 1823 farthing was struck in copper by the Royal Mint.  The obverse side of the coin features the Laureate and draped bust of King George IV facing left, with legend around. The reverse features the seated figure of Britannia facing right with lion at her feet, trident in left hand, shield with Union flag and olive branch in right, with legend around, and date in exergue.
