The 1822 farthing was struck in copper by the Royal Mint. The obverse side of the coin features the Laureate and draped bust of King George IV facing left, with legend around. The reverse features the seated figure of Britannia facing right with lion at her feet, trident in left hand, shield with Union flag and olive branch in right, with legend around, and date in exergue.
