1819 LIX George III Silver Crown Coin In Near Extremely Fine Condition.
There are extremely light surface marks on both sides of this coin. There are small toning / staining spots on the obverse.
The 1819 LIX Crown is a coin struck in 0.925 silver by the Royal Mint. This coin features a laureate head portrait of King George III facing right, with Benedetto Pistrucci’s name below the truncation of the neck. The date appears below the legend on the Obverse. The reverse shows the famous design of St George on horseback slaying the dragon, with Pistrucci’s name on the ground beneath the horse, and legend around. Two different edge types were made in this year, this coin has the regnal year LIX inscribed in raised letters. Only three different dated crown coins were ever issued during the reign of King George III.
