This 1814 French gold coin was minted in Paris. The obverse features the bare-headed bust of Louis XVIII facing right, dressed with the Grand Cordon de l’Ordre du Saint-Esprit, signed Tiolier cursive in the exergue. The reverse has the shield of France crowned between two branches of olive tree, with the year below, and the inscription ‘PIECE DE 20 FRANCS’ around the outside. The A mint mark can be found to the right of the date on the reverse.
