1702 Queen Anne Silver Shilling Coin In Good Very Fine Condition.
This is a nice example with good details. There are light surface marks on both sides of this coin.
The 1702 shilling was a coin struck in 0.925 silver under the reign of Queen Anne. The Obverse features the draped bust of Queen Anne facing left, with legend around. The reverse features the crowned cruciform shields with central Garter star, divided date above, with legend around.
This coin has ‘VIGO’ below the bust, indicating the coin was struck with silver captured from a Spanish treasure fleet returning from America in Vigo Bay, northern Spain, in October 1702.
