The British Gold One Ounce coin is a coin struck by the Royal Mint. These gold coins have been issued with the popular Britannia design, and different commemorative issues. The British One Ounce Britannia was first minted in 1987 and was struck in 22 carat gold. From 2013 the Royal Mint started minting these coins in 999.9 fine gold coin.
