British Silver Double Florin Coins
The British Silver Double Florin Coins are collectable and were struck in 0.925 silver with a weight of 22.62 grams. The Double Florin was only struck in four consecutive years during the reign of Queen Victoria. Between 1887 to 1890 these currency coins had a value of four shillings and feature the Jubilee head portrait of Queen Victoria on the obverse. The reverse is a design of four crowned shields arranged in a cross, with a Garter star in the centre and sceptres topped with national emblems in the angles. Although the British silver Double Florin coins did not catch on due to its similar size to the crown, this has becomes a very popular coin amongst collectors due to its short mintage and historical nature.
