1899 Victoria Old Head Silver Halfcrown Coin In Near Mint Condition.
This is a nice example with sharp details. There are light surface marks on the obverse and some tiny toning spots starting to appear on the reverse.
The 1899 Old head also know as the veiled head Halfrown is a coin struck in 0.925 silver by the Royal Mint. The obverse features a crowned, veiled, and draped bust of Queen Victoria facing right. The engraver’s initials, “T.B.”, are under the bust, which stands for Sir Thomas Brock. With the legend around. The Reverse features a crowned, spade-shaped shield of royal arms within a ring. The date is below the shield and is divided by a small image of St George & the dragon. The legend reads “FID · DEF · IND · IMP” with “HALF CROWN” divided by the date.
