1902 Edward VII Matt Proof Silver Halfcrown Coin In Near Mint Condition.

This is the Matt Proof issue. The Matt Proof finish is a textured, low-reflective surface that contrasts with the highly polished mirror-like surface of a normal proof coin.

There are handling marks and signs the coin has been cleaned on the obverse.

This coin comes in a plastic coin envelope.

The 1902 Halfrown is a coin struck in 0.925 silver by the Royal Mint.  There is an uncrowned portrait of King Edward VII facing right with the legend around.  The Reverse features a crowned quartered shield of arms within a French garter with the motto *HONI SOIT. QVI MAL. Y PENSE.*. The date is located on either side of the garter buckle at the bottom, with HALF to the left and CROWN to the right.

This 1902 Matt Proof silver halfcrown coin had a low mintage figure of only  15,123. This was the first Edwardian halfcrown to be struck.
