The 1787 shilling was a coin struck in 0.925 silver in London by the Royal Mint under the reign of King George III. The Obverse features a laureate and draped bust facing right, with the Latin legend *GEORGIVS. III. DEI. GRATIA* surrounding it. The Reverse is completed with cruciform shields, crowns in angles and a garter star at the centre. The date is at the bottom of the coin with the Latin legend surrounding it.
