This 1860 French gold coin was minted in Paris. The obverse features Napoleon III, the emperor is facing right wearing a laurel wreath. In a circular arc, “Napoléon III” is inscribed on the left and “empereur” on the right. In the lower middle of the piece, the engraver’s signature (Barre). The reverse features a wreath of laurels surrounding the face value and date. At the bottom of the coin are the letter A indicating the Paris mint.
