The date is readable but worn. The legend is worn and incomplete. There are surface marks on both sides. The coin can only be considered a space filler as it has been so well used.

The 1699 halfpenny was struck in copper. The obverse side of the coin features the laureate bust of King William III facing right, with legend continuous over bust. The reverse depicts a seated figure of Britannia, facing left, with a shield, spear, and sprig of leaves and berries, with legend around, and date in exergue.
