There are light surface on both sides, the coin has a dark silver look and is dirty on the Obverse.

The 1908 Halfrown is a coin struck in 0.925 silver by the Royal Mint. There is an uncrowned portrait of King Edward VII facing right with the legend around. The Reverse features a crowned quartered shield of arms within a French garter with the motto *HONI SOIT. QVI MAL. Y PENSE.*. The date is located on either side of the garter buckle at the bottom, with HALF to the left and CROWN to the right.
