1852 Queen Victoria Copper Quarter Farthing Coin In Extremely Fine Condition.
This is a nice example with good detail. There are extremely light surface marks and tiny edge nicks on both sides of this coin.

The 1852 Quarter Farthing is a coin struck in copper by the Royal Mint for use in Ceylon. The obverse features an uncrowned portrait of Queen Victoria facing left with legend around, this early image of Queen Victoria is often referred to as the young head design. The reverse has a central crowned denomination with the date underneath. There is a rose, thistle and shamrock below the date.
The quarter farthing fractional coins were all originally issued for use in Ceylon and were never intended to be legal tender in the UK. The Royal Mint issued quarter farthings in 1839, 1851, 1852, and 1853, and also produced bronze proofs in 1868. The coins are considered rare and difficult to find.
