This is a high grade coin with near full mint lustre. There is a small bronze spot just below the neck on the obverse.

The 1886 halfpenny was struck in bronze by the Royal Mint. The obverse side of the coin depicts the young bust of Queen Victoria wearing a bodice, mantle, and circular brooch, with her hair in a bun and decorated with a wreath of leaves and berries. The reverse side of the coin depicts Britannia seated to the right, the denomination around, with date in exergue, and sea behind.
