The 1993 half sovereign is a coin struck in 22 carat gold as a proof only by the Royal Mint. The Obverse features the third crowned portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II facing right. The queen is wearing the George IV State Diadem, with legend around. The Reverse features St. George slaying the dragon right, with date and designer’s initials in exergue.
