This is a nice example with a dark silver look. There are extremely light surface marks on both sides of this coin.
The Young head Shilling is a coin struck in 0.925 silver by the Royal Mint. This is the first type of the Young head design of Queen Victoria used on the Obverse of the Shilling between 1838 and 1839. The Reverse of this coin depicts a crown, laurel and oak leaves within an open wreath, and the words “ONE / SHILLING” and “1838”.
