The 1950 George VI Proof English Shilling coin was struck by the Royal Mint in the United Kingdom during the George VI era (1936-1952). This proof coin is struck in higher quality than the circulated coin. Both an English and Scottish shilling were issued in 1951. The reverse of the English shilling features a crowned English lion. A bare head of King George VI appears on the Obverse.
The official mintage of the English issue was 17,513.
